Is there an early learning centre near you they will have ezxcellent ideas on how to keep Lucy occupied, or alternatively, you could ask her what she feels like doing.Painting is one way of occupying a child I'd try adding dried rice, or lentils to the paint, for texture and effect.

Greetings Lindsey,
Right now I am going with what I enjoyed as a child…and that would be the working and playing with clay like Play Dough, as an example. I realize there are some homemade types but whatever, the working with clay and making shapes from people to buildings to boxes and just where imagination leads can be so much fun and entertaining. There can be additional materials added like pipe cleaners that could be used as arms and legs where a body and head is made of say clay while too fabrics could be added to represent cloths.
Besides clay play is not just for kids or maybe I should rather say it is for kids of all ages…I know I still enjoy working with clay from time to time and then there too are say pottery classes that are offered and again for folks and kids too *smile ….of all ages.
To all good playtime fun with Lucy. Yeah!

Hi.
If you go to http://kids.vipgameszone.com/ you can find three programmes for children and they are free. One is about learning the keyboard, the other one about learning the alphabet and the third one about maths.
I hope you find them useful.

Is it only computer games you're looking for? I enjoyed playing with play doh as well and definitely ask Lucy what she likes, whether it's music or movies or art or what have you. My parents and I sang along with a lot of silly songs and videos and danced around the house a lot. I also liked playing doctor. I had a doctor kit and would always be doing some kind of operation on my dolls and stuffed animals. You can probably google for lots of arts and crafts things for kids to do as well as traditional games that don't involve the computer.

I always liked playing with the legos when I smaller. legos are awesome, I still build shit out them til this day. I know for smaller children they make larger lego blocks or at least they use to. I'm not sure about that now but I'm sure they still might.

I used to make cars, buildings, and etc. out of them. It's helps build the imagination kinda like what CG's idea of the play dough was. It's not quite as messy as play dough is either but hey, I have nothing against messy things like play dough. I use to make stuff out of that to.

I loved lego and Rosey if you dont mind getting really dirty, making models with papier mache is tremendous fun for a small child, as their imagination just runs riot and the results can be painted and go on show to be admired by your visitors..

Legos! Yes, I had forgotten all about them till you jarred my memory Divine Dragon. I remember one time I had made purchase of some to give as a gift…hardly got around to giving them as a gift as I played with them over and again. I did not have them as a child and so when finally had opportunity to play and create with them I had such the hard time putting them down. Legos! Great fun indeed.

There is a sight www.gamesfortheblind.com. If I remember correctly they have some games that your daughter might be able to play. I seem to remember that they have a simon says game where you match the ever-increasingly difficult tone patterns.

Try Lincoln Logs, if those are still made. Interlocking pieces should keep her busy for hours. Most of these ideas really bring back memories.
